Homes Offering Positive Education

HOPE has been formed to support and encourage all homeschoolers in Council bluffs and surrounding areas, regardless of the reasons for homeschooling, philosophy, or methods of instruction. This is done through support meetings, a monthly newsletter and a variety of activities. Check the calendar for upcoming events and take a look at the photo gallery to see some of our past activities.

Educational Showcase coming up!  The May meeting is traditionally an evening event to show off and present what your students have accomplished during the past year.  Tables will be available for displays and there will be a time for music and oral presentations.  This event is a great motivator for the students to do extra nice work and a few extra projects.  Start planning now.  Invite the grandparents, uncles, and aunts so they can put it on their calendars.  Entry deadline is April 25th.  Flyers and registration forms will be available on this site under downloads.  If you have any questions, please contact Eunice Bunch at embunch@cox.net or (712)322-9387.

Filed under: H.O.P.E Newssteve at 10:21AM on January 07, 2008 email to someone printer friendly
If you would like to give your children some experience performing in front of an audience and at the same time be a blessing to some older folks, please join us at Woodlands Rehabilitation Center (formerly Indian Hills Care Center) on January 25th at 2:00 pm.  There is a piano available for use as well as a microphone and CD player.  Rebecca would like to challenge the students to introduce their own piece and will have an extra microphone available.  You could have your children play an instrument, sing, recite poetry, do a demonstration, or about anything else you can think of.  They can perform by themselves, with a friend or in a group.  There are also opportunities for teens to utilize their speaker skills by emceeing (announcing each selection and performer).  If you would like to participate or have any questions, please email Rebecca at ra.losh@yahoo.com or call her at 325-4230 by Wednesday, January 23rd.
